In 1998 South Grove Golf Course was looking for ways to increase golf participation by juniors. An idea was born to allow one junior golfer to play free at South Grove while accompanied by a paying adult. This became a big hit with juniors as well as with parents.

This tradition continues by allowing a parent who pays to play during the twilight rate ($13.00 to walk and $20.00 to ride) one junior golfer (17 years of age and younger) to play for free! If the parent pays to ride a golf car the junior rides for free."

Kids play free is available 7 days a week during the twilight time. Twilight starts at 3:00 in the summer during daylight savings time. Twilight starts at 2:00 in the spring before daylight savings time begins and after daylight savings time ends in the fall.
